Measurement of Electrical Conductivity
Plug the analog electrical conductivity (EC) sensor into the slot #5 (by default) and a DS thermometer into the slot #1. Then, press keypad "C7" to measure or to start the calibration processes.

Hints on preparation and calibration of the EC sensor:
Before first use (or not used for a very long time) of the sensor, it is necessary to go through the following calibration processes:

1. Wash the the EC probe with distilled water and then immerse it into a standard buffer solution of 1413µS/cm together with a DS thermometer. Select Calibrate from the lower right menu (or press keypad "D#").Gently stir the probe to get stable reading.

2. Wash the the EC probe again with distilled water and then immerse into a standard buffer solution of 12.88mS/cm together with a DS thermometer. Select Calibrate from the lower right menu (or press keypad "D#").Gently stir the probe to get stable reading.

If you do not have the above buffer solution, you may prepare them by dissolving (a) 0.7459 grams and (b) 6.799 grams of potassium chloride (KCl) in 1 litre of distilled water at 25ÂșC to get a solution with conductivity of 1413 µS/cm and 12.88mS/cm, respectively.
