SESlogger App/Program
How to setup and use this SESlogger program to communicate with the Mobile Logger in any desktop/laptop/notebook/netbook machine running Windows 7/8/10 (32 or 64 bits) operating system
Lightweight version
1) If the computer does not have Java (e.g. jre18 or above), download and install it from java.com
2) Download the SESlogger-XX.exe application and put it in a user-writable folder like SESlogger.
3) There will be no icon created in the Start menu or Program menu. You need to use a file manager to find and run the program by double click on it and some working and result files will be generated in the same folder.
4) Update is very easy - simply download the latest version of SESlogger-XX.exe to replace it.
Java-embedded version
1) Download SESlogger-XX(java_embed)NNbits.exe file (for NN=64 or 32 bits machine). There is no need to download Java from java.com because its libraries are already included inside it.
2) Double click on it to install and follow the user-friendly instruction.
3) There will be icon generated in the Start menu and Program menu and you may click on it to run.
6) Update is very easy - simply download the latest version of SESlogger.jar from the Java version and replace the corresponding one in the app folder of SESlogger, e.g. C:\Program Files\SESlogger\app\. There is no need to download the bluky SESlogger(java_embed)-XX.exe file and re-install the package.
Remarks:
1) For Bluetooth connection, make sure to have the Bluetooth enabled and installed with the Bluetooth software.
2) For cable connection to USB ports, need to identify the com port used in your machine for connection to the mobile logger.
3) For WiFi connection (if a WiFi module is used to replace the Bluetooth module), first need to connect the Linux machine to the WiFi of the Mobile Logger with the SSID like 'MLG01_AA8345' where MLG01 is the the logger name and AA8345 is the first few characters of its MAC address.
The normal password for a mobile logger called 'MLGxy' is xyxyxyxy (i.e. the last two digits repeated 4 times) and its IP is 192.168.4.1.
Hence, enter IP=192.168.4.1 and Port=9000 when you choose the Internet connection to your nearby mobile logger.
4) After connecting to the mobile logger by one of the above means, it is possible to make it available on the Internet by selecting 'Function->Server->Enable' in the Menu.
Other machines (with Windows 7/8/10, Mac OSX or Linux) or mobile devices (installed with the app called SESlogger7) could access it by choosing the Internet connection with your machine's IP address and the Port=9000 (or other value as set).
5) You can use this software to burn an update version of the OS for the mobile logger by selecting "Update Mobile Logger's OS" under the Help menu.
